If you look after a school hall, church or community theatre, you have probably nursed a rack of tired tungsten fixtures for years. The good news: a genuinely professional LED upgrade no longer costs auditorium money. We have put together a simple package around the Chauvet EVE family and a ChamSys QuickQ console — all gear Cue-Go retails right here in New Zealand and runs on our own productions.
The profile: EVE E-160ZQ
The E-160ZQ is a full-colour 160W RGB+WW LED zoom profile that suits both portable rigs and permanent installs. Because the engine mixes red, green, blue and warm white, you get proper theatrical colour plus clean whites anywhere from a cosy 2800K right up to 8000K — front light, specials and gobo work from one fixture.
The fresnel: EVE F-160ZQ
Same punchy 160W RGB+WW engine, classic soft-edged fresnel beam. It is the natural swap-in for old 650W tungsten fresnels: the colour mixing handles your gels, and the white-temperature range keeps skin tones honest on camera and on stage.
The wash: EVE P-160 RGBW
For broad, even stage wash the P-160 RGBW carries 160W of red, green, blue and white LEDs with preset white temperatures built in. It is robust, quiet and equally happy in a mobile rack or bolted to a bar for good.
The brain: ChamSys QuickQ 20
Control everything from a QuickQ 20 — a console that feels like a big phone rather than a flight computer. Its 9.7-inch touchscreen walks volunteers and students through setup, programming and playback, yet it happily drives dimmers, LED colour mixing and moving lights when your rig grows.
That is the whole upgrade: three fixture types and one friendly console. We stock the EVE range and ChamSys consoles in our shop, and because we use this gear ourselves we can spec exact quantities for your space — just send us your stage dimensions.
