Low-lying fog is the effect that makes first dances, dance numbers and drops feel cinematic — and the original Cloud 9 became a touring staple doing exactly that. The new Cloud 9X IP keeps the dense, floor-hugging output and rebuilds everything around it. We think it is the most rental-friendly low fogger Chauvet has made, and it is available to order through Cue-Go.
20 kilograms lighter
The 9X IP weighs roughly 34 kg — down from over 54 kg on the previous generation. That is the difference between a two-person lift and a one-person reposition, and your van (and your back) will notice. The redesigned housing builds in reservoirs for both water and fog fluid plus a storage bay for the hose and accessories, so nothing rides in a separate case.
Hook it to a hose and forget it
With an IP-rated build, outdoor stages and damp venues are fair game. The new garden-hose input plus auto-sense mode means the unit tops up its own water continuously — no manual refills mid-show. Power is one efficient cable now instead of two, which simplifies distro and speeds up setup.
Modern controls, console optional
You get a full-colour display, both 3-pin and 5-pin DMX, and USB-C firmware updates. Best of all for one-off hires: a dedicated RF remote triggers fog on demand with no console or timer in sight — hand it to the MC and walk away.
For wedding venues, schools and production companies that rent effects out, that remote alone pays for itself in saved setup time. Get in touch and we will sort numbers for you.
